Dye my eyes and call me Pretty

Welcome to the Desert

Faint light enters from the tall lamp post on the street and in through a large open window, dimly revealing within an apartment living room a

Small and creeping shadow moving across thick blue carpet. It snakes past a large wooden shelving unit. Clay figures of fantastical creatures watching from their places on the shelves, the movement across the floor.

The shadow stops. An outline of the SMALL CREATURE faintly visible.

The carpet ebbs into coral pink sand, the grains strewn randomly across the woolen textile, and then a

CORAL PINK DESERT

THREE SUNS beat down upon the desert surrounding all sides of the creature, the apartment now far removed in the distance, like the answers of some quiz show in a final moment of truth. The creature's tough skin matches the coral pink of the sand which shimmers in front of him now. A wavering

MIRAGE appears. Within its center, the large shelving unit from the apartment fades in and out, with the heat waving as mirage.

The creature pauses long enough to squint toward the distance, then moves forward like a salamander on the sand,
its tail dragging a golden key behind him.
